Penguins and Eggs

Children learn about object permanence as they grow and develop, as well as building their short and long term memories. This game is one of the many that we set up to help with the development of these skills, as each of the penguins is hiding a different coloured egg and the children take turns rolling the dice and then trying to find the same coloured egg.

In order to succeed with this game, the skills of perseverance, short term memory, object permanence, turn taking, colour recognition, number recognition as well as one to one counting association, and patience are all utilised.

The learning here is definitely more than meets the eye of just a game.
