The Hearing House
The Hearing House works with children who have a severe to profound hearing loss. We help youngsters with cochlear implants and hearing aids to listen and speak like their hearing peers. The Hearing House provides Auditory-Verbal Therapy which accelerates the natural way a hearing child would develop language. With this therapy, The Hearing House aims for deaf and hearing impaired children to learn to speak clearly and naturally like their hearing peers and to attend mainstream school by the age of five.
Schools and preschools can be noisy and therefore difficult learning environments for children with a hearing loss. The Joyce Fisher Preschool aims to overcome these obstacles with high teacher to child ratios. We have staff who are trained specifically in language stimulation and development in order to facilitate the transition to school.
